Today was not only my birthday, it was also the anniversary of the death of ODB, who passed in 2004. Rza released this song last year in ODB’s remembrance, this year he came back with a video. ODB was such a raw MC, I still remember the first time I heard him back when I was a freshman in high school.

If you haven’t heard them already, The Dead Weather is a rock super group consisting of Jack White of the White Stripes and the Raconteurs, Alison Mosshart of the Kills and Discount, Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age and Jack Lawrence of the Raconteurs and the Greenhornes. Formed at a studio jam session at Jack Whites Third Man studio in Nashville, TN, The Dead Weather put out their first album Horehound out last year and are now following it up with Sea of Cowards.

They have a bluesy, grungy, rock sound, if you like the Black Keys, The White Stripes or any of the bands named above, you will love The Dead Weather.
